What AI tools work with the MCP Server?

Claude Desktop, Claude Code CLI, Cursor, Cline, VS Code, Amazon Q, and other MCP-compatible clients. The list is growing. MCP is an open standard, so any tool that supports it can connect.

Do I need to install anything locally?

Just the MCP client configuration. The server runs remotely on Memberstack infrastructure. Updates deploy automatically without requiring local changes.

How does authentication work?

OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You log in through your browser with your Memberstack dashboard credentials. Your credentials never touch the AI client. Sessions are managed securely.

Can I use this with multiple Memberstack projects?

Yes. Switch between apps using natural language commands. The server maintains context for whichever project you're currently working on.

What's the difference between SANDBOX and LIVE environments?

SANDBOX is free and uses Stripe test data. LIVE is production with real members and payments. Always verify which environment you're in before making changes.

How do I log out or switch accounts?

Run rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth in your terminal, then restart your AI client. The next conversation will prompt you to re-authenticate.

Is this production-ready?

It's in beta. We've spent 75+ hours building the foundation, but features may change based on feedback. Use it for development and testing. Approach production use with caution.

What can I actually do with it?

Manage members, configure subscription plans, build data tables, set up gated content, search the knowledge base, and handle custom fields. 68 specialized tools covering most Memberstack operations.

Does this replace the dashboard or API?

No. It's another way to interact with Memberstack. Use whichever tool fits your workflow. Some tasks are faster through conversation, others through the dashboard.
