Common Webflow Pricing Scenarios
Let’s walk through 2 common scenarios to quickly introduce how Webflow’s pricing works.
Individual freelancer with 2 sites in progress looking to take on a new client site
Situation
As a freelancer you started out with:
- Workspace Plan: Starter x 1
- Site Plans: Starter x 2
Challenge
After working on 2 free sites you have maxed out the number of free sites allowed in your starter workspace plan.
Recommendation
To allow you work on a new client site we recommend:
Workspace Plan: Upgrade to Core.
Site plan: Continue work with the free starter site plans.
Result
The Core workspace plan gives you access to 8 more free sites. Allowing you to easily start work on a new client site using the free starter site plan.
Furthermore, you don’t need a site plan for any of your client sites yet, not until you need to add a custom domain or other site features.
Cost
You go from paying $0 for your Starter Workspace and Starter Site plans to paying for a Core Workspace plan.
It’s important to note that Workspace plans are billed per seat, so because you’re the only one in your workspace, you end up paying for just your seat.
Three freelancers adding new members to the team to take on even more client sites together
As a team of three freelancers you started out with:
- Workspace Plan: 1 Core workspace x 3 seats
- Site Plans: A mix of paid site plans (depending on each site’s needs)
Challenge
Adding a new team member to your Core workspace maxes out the total number of collaborators your team can have in your Core workspace.
Recommendation
To allow you add new team members, up to a maximum of 9, we recommend:
Workspace Plan: Upgrade to Growth.
Site plan: Continue to purchase paid site plans per site as needed. You can have an unlimited number of paid site plans.
Result
The Growth workspace plan gives you access to invite 6 more freelancers to collaborate with. Allowing you to easily onboard more freelancers to work with on even more client sites.
Furthermore, you’ve always had access to an unlimited number of paid sites, but now your team gets access to an unlimited number of free sites as well.
Cost
Take note of how Workspace costs coexist alongside paid site plan costs.
In this scenario you go from paying for a Core Workspace plan to paying for a Growth Workspace plan, while your costs for paid site plans remain unchanged.
Because workspace plans are billed per seat, you go from paying for 3 seats on your core workspace plan, to paying for at least 4 seats on the growth workspace plan.
What you need to know to understand Webflow pricing
The first thing you should know is Webflow uses two distinct pricing tiers, where the first requires paying for a Workspace, and the second requires paying for each site in the Workspace.
It’s just like a day at an amusement park at Disneyland – you first pay an entrance fee which determines how many adults and children you can have,
and then you pay for the custom experiences each child or adult will have.
In Webflow terms, you first pay for a Workspace subscription which determines the number of free sites and collaborators you can have within that Workspace, among other goodies.
And then you pay for the custom features you want each site to have by subscribing each site within the Workspace to a site plan.
Webflow Pricing Transition
The second thing you should know is Webflow has moved from using separate individual and team account plans, to using Workspace plans.
For users on the pre-existing individual and team account pricing plans, Webflow will be prompting you over the coming months to transition to a Workspace plan.
Check out Webflow’s article on transitioning to workspaces for details on the transition process and FAQs,

Workspaces determine who has Webflow design access to all your sites. You need workspaces to create and grow teams, as well as assign roles and control billing, publishing, and other permissions per team member.
First thing you should note about Workspace plans is they are priced per seat.
Next thing to note is every workspace plan comes with the feature to transfer sites from that workspace to other workspaces. Along with all the free bells and whistles of the old account plans.
Other than these, you’ll need either a Core, Growth, or Enterprise Workspace plan to access more features.

Common Scenarios
Webflow Site Pricing

You need Webflow site plans first and foremost to add custom domains, and second most frequently to add guest editors.
Webflow site plans determine the number of people who can edit pages on the site with the plan.
The first thing you should note about Site plans is they are priced per-site.
Next thing to note is site plans are split between
- CMS Site Plans, which are geared towards sites which don’t sell anything
- Ecommerce Site Plans, geared towards sites with products on sale.
The last thing to note is when you switch a site from a CMS site plan to an ecommerce site, the maximum number of CMS items allowed gets reduced from 10000 to 3000.
